The Art of the Cabin Kitchen: Local Jasper Flavours
Savour the rhythm of the Rockies with locally sourced ingredients, private barbecues, and meals prepared at your own pace.
While staying in one of our beautiful log cabins at Alpine Village, one of the greatest luxuries is your proximity to nature. It is the perfect opportunity to power down your devices and share uncrowded, quality time with your loved ones away from the rush of everyday life.
You do not need to spend your holiday chasing reservations at busy restaurants. While Jasper offers wonderful dining options for a special night out, there is something deeply restorative about sitting down to eat in peace on your private patio. Enjoying freshly prepared, locally sourced food while listening to the Athabasca River provides an untouched sense of calm. For the aspiring chefs among our guests, our accommodations offer the perfect blend of rustic charm and self-sufficient culinary capabilities.
Morning Delights from Local Ovens
A beautiful morning in the mountains begins with exceptional ingredients. Lynn’s Place and Bear’s Paw Bakery both produce high-quality baked goods just a five minute drive from your cabin. Picking up fresh artisan bread or delicate pastries is a wonderful way to start the day. Lynn’s Place is at the Jasper farmer’s market every Wednesday with her fabulous sourdough, and Bear’s Paw Bakery is open every day with a variety of treats.
Nothing quite compares to a gently warmed croissant drizzled with local honey for breakfast. All of our cabin kitchens are equipped with a convection microwave. When used on the convection setting, there is no need to worry about soggy or rubbery baked goods. Your morning treats will taste and smell as fresh as the minute you bought them.
Midday Picnics in the Regenerating Wild
The artisan bread you picked up from the bakery serves a second, equally delightful purpose. It is the perfect foundation for a gourmet picnic. You can find a selection of fine meats, gourmet cheeses, and other lunch time delights from Otto’s Cache which is also conveniently located in Jasper near the bakery. Crafting your lunch in the comfort of your cabin allows you to pack exactly what you crave before heading out for a day of exploration.
Taking a bespoke picnic into the regenerating wilderness of Jasper National Park allows you to dine on your own schedule. You can pause by a serene alpine lake or find a quiet clearing in the woods, enjoying your meal surrounded by the quiet beauty of nature.
Evening Feasts on Your Private Barbecue
As the sun begins to set and the cool evening air settles in, the culinary highlight of the day happens right outside your door. Most of our cabins feature their own private BBQ – if not, we have a common BBQ area for use at any time.
If you visit the Jasper Farmers Market, held every Wednesday from mid-June until mid-September, you will find a fabulous array of fresh, local ingredients. For other days of the week, Nesters Market is a fantastic place to source premium groceries.

You might choose to grill fabulous AAA Canadian certified Angus thick-cut steaks from Nesters Market. Smoking these juicy steaks on your private charcoal BBQ delivers flavour that simply cannot be beaten. Alternatively, if you have sourced local venison from a specialty shop or caught fresh fish during your daytime adventures (if you have a valid fishing license), your cabin provides the space to prepare a beautiful pan-fried dish. You can pair your main course with mushrooms or a crisp salad, finishing with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
Preparing your own meals at Alpine Village is an experience in pure, autonomous luxury. You dictate the menu, you control the pace, and you enjoy every bite in total privacy.
Whether you are planning a romantic dinner for two or a family barbecue under the stars, our cabins provide the perfect setting. Book your unforgettable stay at Alpine Village today.
