Welcome to the family

FAMILY OWNED
and operated since 1986

The Allin Family has owned and operated Alpine Village Cabin Resort for 38 years. Chris, a math teacher, and Rena, a graphic designer, married in April, 1986. Within 3 days of their wedding, they moved everything they owned to Jasper to embark on the adventure that is now Alpine Village Cabin Resort.

Chris and Rena have raised 3 children – Cassi, Natalie & Sean, all who help at Alpine Village Cabin Resort in various ways. Cassi is home in a management capacity, Natalie keeps our online presence strong as she focuses on marketing opportunities through Instagram and Facebook, and Sean can be found around the grounds on a tractor or with a chainsaw. The Allin Family and their committed team continue to operate the resort, truly enjoying meeting people from all over the world and the experiences that come with operating a very busy resort in the Canadian Rockies.

Alpine Village Cabin Resort is proud to be one of the few remaining family owned and operated resorts in not only Jasper National Park, but Banff and Lake Louise as well.

STAY WITH US

We would love to have you stay with us at The Alpine Village Cabin Resort, in beautiful Jasper National Park Alberta. Extending, a warm welcome from our family to yours.

OUR HISTORY

The property opened as Kiefer’s Kozy Kabins in 1941, thanks to Mary & Curt Keifer who built the original 30 cabins. They operated the resort for 24 years before changing the name to Alpine Village. In 1974, Alpine Village was bought by Lydia & Steve Stanko who updated many of the existing cabins – Lydia still lives in Jasper today.

In 1986, Chris & Rena bought Alpine Village and immediately began updating, refurbishing and building new cabins while maintaining the unique character of the original log cabins. Between 1986 and 2023, Rena & Chris have built 30 new log cabins, all in varying sizes and styles, for a total of 55 cabins. The Hot Pool, garages, staff accommodation, landscaping and existing cabins throughout the property have either been added to or renovated throughout the years.

Due to the 2024 Jasper Complex Wildfire, on July 24, 2024, our cherished Alpine Village, a place of countless memories and joy, has suffered immense losses. Twenty-five of our fifty-five cabins were completely destroyed, and five more bare significant damage. Closed for the 2024 season, Alpine Village will re-open for the 2025 season.

OUR LOCATION

For over 70 years, Alpine Village has been offering an authentic “cabin in the woods” experience to guests from all over the world coming to experience the ruggedness of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Our 30 cabins are spaciously located across 11 acres of property, no longer than a minute’s walk from the sparkling Athabasca River with glorious views of Mount Edith Cavell and Tekarra Mountain in the backdrop.

After the 2024 Jasper Complex Wildfire, the landscape that once was a vibrant haven of trees and wildlife now stands as a stark reminder of nature’s fierce power. Jasper National Park’s beauty is still astounding – the mountain are awe inspiring, the river is still vibrant blue, and the animals still freely frolic through our property.

Wildlife such as elk, black and even grizzly bears frequent the property. Sightings of these majestic animals are thrilling for our guests and remind us all how lucky we are to visit a National Park where wildlife are free to roam.

You can walk or drive the short 2 km to downtown Jasper to enjoy the delicious local food and pub scene, go shopping or check out a local art gallery, museum and more. The many attractions and sites of beautiful Jasper National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, are all within an hour’s drive to Alpine Village Cabin Resort.
